You know how we are always on the hunt to keep the girls occupied? Here’s a secret: Sometimes I just get sick and tired of running around. So when I can find a good deal locally, I am thrilled!
The girls are always asking what plans we have on the horizon. In fact we have multiple calendars around the house in hopes of taking their anxiety of empty days away…and hoping they will check for themselves. We have white boards, bathroom calendars, and graphics on their iPads. For Christmas we gave them a stack of little boxes, one for each of 6 months, with certificates to mostly local activities.
My favorite way to find activities is to check out sites like Groupon, Living Social, and Local Flavor. I was happy to find these two Montgomery County activities that I knew they would enjoy.

The first one was Scent and Sip in Lansdale, PA. Scent and Sip is right along Main street and accessible through double doors that are even with the pavement. I think the most difficult part of visiting is the parking. If you cannot find a place in the front then go around back to the parking lot where there are plenty of spaces. Follow the sidewalk back around to the front door. They also have nice large bathrooms when you get there!
They have been running promotions on Groupon. Don’t forget to add additional savings by pasting current coupon codes at checkout. Please note the current Groupon is only usable on an off time. Always read the fine print on your current Groupon! If you choose to head over during peak hours, I would call ahead to reserve space…I learned THAT the hard way.

We also like to call ahead to save space at a low table that works best with wheelchairs. Many tables are high tops. They are exceptionally accommodating and friendly!

We started with candle making and have moved into things like shampoo, hand soap, sugar scrub, and hand sanitizer. They are constantly adding new things! Check out their latest items, prices, and promotions HERE. If, however, you are sensitive to scents or multiple scents at one time, this is NOT the place for you!
The second place we visited was new to us. I once again found a coupon site and printed a certificate. Actually, I must have gotten carried away because I realize I bought THREE certificates from Local Flavor!

I’m not one bit upset about that, though, because we have found the ENGAGE ART STUDIO to also be accessible, creative, and fun! The studio is located in Schwenksville PA. While the location is definitely not in town and is located in an old building, it is Super accessible and also has easy to use bathrooms. We already visited twice this year: one time we called ahead and one time we just showed up. They were extremely kind and accommodating both times. And I tell you, they were hopping! Lots of parties and fun going on.

Another awesome thing about the Engage Art Studio is that they allow you to choose your project, even with the certificate. They may change seasonally, too. You can find all their offerings here on the website. Looks like they are taking reservations for summer Art Camps this summer, too!

We have a few more local certificates we need to use this spring… I’ll let you know if they turn out just as successful!
