Hi! And welcome to my blog. I started my first blog over a decade ago as a way to share what I was finding on the internet that helped me with savings and also related to our life affected by special needs. It was a fun little way to be creative, share, and earn some perks while lying in a nest of pillows on the floor in the twin’s room as they fell to sleep…and then woke up…then asleep…then repositioning…you get the idea. I named it Special savings Special needs. A lot has changed since then, both at home and in the world of blogging.
I decided I would like to begin again in the world of blogging. I am still learning and I love implementing new things.
In our world at home, well, I still stay up late but not on the floor! And, unbelievably, the two oldest have moved on and moved out. We are in the state of transitioning to adult services with “the twins” and they have even graduated from high school in the formal sense of education. We are currently trying out different vocational training opportunities both within the school district and at home.
Some things, however, never seem to change! Namely, our family’s sense of adventure and love of travel. I often have people comment to me about our trips as well as ask for travel tips, ideas, and recommendations. They also know there has to be some sort of dramatic tale to go along with our time away with two in power wheelchairs!
When we are at home the girls prefer to not be AT HOME. And so we are always on the hunt for things to do, especially things that are wheelchair accessible. When we find places that bring us joy we want to pass them on to you! All this activity has led us to seek out solutions to issues that arrive in our busy lives. I want to share them with you…some for personal care, wheelchair improvements, accessibility and many other things we have found beneficial. I also look forward to hearing from you, too. I know that I learned everything from those who travelled the road just a bit ahead of me. We can encourage each other.
Even now, as I reflect back over a decade, I see how many things have changed and yet many have stayed the same. But, I suppose, that truly is Wheel Life.
